# AI Tools group (sidebar)

## What it is

The **AI Tools** group is a collapsible row in the Omniscio projects sidebar that nests the features you interact with as an AI, or that directly shape your AI experience, into one place. It ships **collapsed by default** — click its chevron to expand.

- **AI Coaching** — your personal coaching space.
- **Journal** — your private reflective writing space.
- **PM Advisor** — strategic coaching and pattern analysis for your projects.
- **What Changed** — cross-board activity timeline ranked by significance.
- **Ops Engine** — workspace health, deadline confidence, and shift handoffs.

## Where to find it

### How to use it

- Click the **chevron** on the left of the row to expand/collapse. The choice persists across launches.
- Click the **group row itself** (not the chevron) to open a small roll-up panel that lists the members; each one is a shortcut to open it directly.
- To move a member out of the group for solo sidebar use, **drag it** to a new position or right-click and choose **Remove from Category**. Right-click the solo item and choose **Return to [group name]** to put it back.

## How it behaves

The group ships **collapsed by default**, so its members are not visible until you expand it — and the
expand/collapse choice is remembered across launches. The nesting is presentational: the row groups
its children for display only and does not re-parent them in the database, so a member you drag out
or return to the group is unaffected underneath.

## For agents

`ai-tools` entry in [integration-registry.ts](../../src/shared/integration-registry.ts); its children carry `parentGroupId: 'ai-tools'`. Render nesting is driven by `SIDEBAR_PARENT_GROUPS` + `consolidateChildrenUnderParent` in [ProjectsSidebar.tsx](../../src/renderer/src/features/dashboard/ProjectsSidebar.tsx) — render-only, no DB re-parent.
