# What Changed (PM Unified Feed)

## What it is

**What Changed** is a cross-board activity timeline that shows you what changed across all your
project management boards, ranked by how much it matters to you.

The What Changed feed collects every PM board event (status changes, assignments, new items, due
dates, comments, automations, archival) and presents them in a single timeline. Events are ranked
by significance so the most important changes appear first.

You can filter by board, time range, action type (status change, assignment, etc.), and actor
(human or agent). Inline actions let you mark items done or jump to the board without leaving the
feed.

A daily digest fires at 8 AM summarizing yesterday's activity, grouped by board and significance
tier. It appears as an inbox item you can toggle on or off in Settings > Daily Digest.

## Where to find it

The feed appears in the sidebar under its integration group when the feature is enabled. It is
currently in development and gated behind a feature flag, so it stays out of the sidebar until the
feature ships. The daily digest does not appear in the feed at all -- it arrives as an inbox item,
where it can be switched off.

## How it behaves

### Significance ranking

Each event gets a score from 0 to 100 based on four factors:

- **Action weight** -- overdue items score highest (90), archived items lowest (20)
- **Recency** -- events from the last few hours get a boost that decays over 24 hours
- **Board preference** -- promoted boards score higher, muted boards score lower
- **Mentions** -- events that affect you directly get an extra boost

Scores map to tiers: Critical (75+), Important (50-74), Notable (25-49), Routine (0-24). Each tier
has a colored badge in the feed.

### Batch summaries

Click "Summarize visible events" to generate a plain-language summary of the events currently
shown. Summaries are grouped by board and cached so regenerating the same set is instant.

**The AI summary is rate-limited, and it degrades quietly rather than telling you.** You get at most
**30 summaries and $0.25 of model spend per day**, resetting at local midnight. When either is
reached — or when the visible set is larger than **50 events** — the button still works and still
returns a summary, but it is the **rule-based per-entry summary** rather than the AI one. Nothing
alerts you to the substitution, so a summary that reads more mechanically than it did earlier in the
day is the signal. The underlying per-entry summaries are always available and cost nothing.

### Settings

- **PM Feed enabled** -- master toggle for the feed panel
- **PM Feed digest enabled** -- toggle for the daily 8 AM digest inbox item

Both are in Settings and default to off until the feature ships.

## For agents

- Registered as `pm-unified-feed` in `UNRELEASED_FEATURES` (status: `in-development`), setting key
  `pmUnifiedFeedEnabled`, env var `AMC_SHOW_PM_UNIFIED_FEED=1`.
- Both invoke IPC channels (`PM_UNIFIED_FEED_LIST`, `PM_UNIFIED_FEED_BATCH_SUMMARY`) are in
  `BLOCKED_CHANNELS` (desktop-only, blocked from mobile/web WS bridge).
- CLI routes (`GET /pm/feed`, `POST /pm/feed/batch-summary`) are defined in
`cli-server-pm-feed-routes.ts` and registered in the CLI server route barrel
  (`cli-server-pm-routes.ts` imports `registerPmFeedRoutes`).
