title: Snooze everything else (keep a few things, hide the rest for a while)

# Snooze everything else

## What it is

**Snooze everything else** is [snooze](snooze-an-inbox-item.md) turned around. A normal
snooze asks you to pick what to HIDE. This asks you to pick what to **KEEP** — then it
hides everything else until a time you choose, and brings it all back on its own.

It exists because the normal way round gets harder exactly when you need it most. If your
inbox has 23 things in it and you want to concentrate on 3, the ordinary bulk snooze makes
you select the other 20. The noisier the inbox, the more work it is to quiet it.

### What it does and doesn't touch

- **It sweeps everything else** — including task reminders and pending approvals. That is
deliberate, and it's why it asks you to confirm once and tells you the real number first.
Worth knowing: snoozing a task reminder defers the actual task, and hiding a pending
approval means an agent waiting on that decision keeps waiting.
- **What you kept stays put.** Including the fiddly case where several rows share one
underlying item — pull requests from the same repository, for instance. Keep one and the
others don't drag it away with them.
- **Things already snoozed are left alone.** If you'd snoozed something until next week, a
two-hour sweep won't pull it back early.
- **It's one gesture, one undo.** Everything the sweep hid comes back with a single Undo.

## Where to find it

In the **Inbox panel** itself: select the rows you want to keep, then choose the keep-and-hide action. The hubs sidebar looks alike but is not the place.

## How it behaves

### The two ways to use it

**Keep the things you picked.** In the **Inbox panel**, select the rows you want to keep —
hold Ctrl (or Cmd) and click each one, or Shift-click a run of them — then right-click any
row and choose **"Snooze everything else…"**. Pick how long, and the rest of the inbox goes
quiet.

Do this in the Inbox panel itself, not the hubs sidebar. The two look alike and carry the
same right-click menu, so it is an easy first wrong turn.

**Keep a whole project.** Every project's group header in the inbox has a **"Snooze others
(N)"** button, where N is how many items sit outside that project. One click keeps that
project and snoozes the rest. You don't have to select anything — which is usually what a
focus block actually looks like: one project, everything else quiet, for a couple of hours.

That button only appears on a real project. The Alerts and Approvals sections aren't
projects, so it never shows up there.

### When it comes back

At the time you picked, on its own. There's no new mechanism here — it uses the same snooze
that every other Omniscio item uses, so everything returns the way it always does.

### Focus Mode is a different thing

[Focus Mode](focus-mode.md) batches your alerts so they arrive together instead of
interrupting one at a time. This feature doesn't touch it.

They do meet in one place: a session can be marked **"Alert me even in Focus Mode"** from
its right-click menu, which lets that one session interrupt you immediately instead of
waiting for the next batch. That's a per-session exception to batching — not a way of
keeping a row visible — and it's the setting the Focus Mode settings page lets you remove
again.

### Turning it off

It ships switched off while in development. Settings → Lab, or the setting
`inboxKeepListFocusEnabled`.

Snoozing a single inbox item is the ordinary way round and has its own page; snoozing a session is a separate control on the session itself.
