How your overseers remember

An overseer does not have to remember to remember. The app does it for them.

What it is

Each crew overseer has one memory that the app keeps for it. It holds your words, the overseer's rules, the decisions currently in force, the lessons learned (what failed and must not be tried again), and where things stand right now. It is kept tidy in place, so the same rule does not pile up three times.

Your words are kept word for word

Every message you send a crew overseer is saved exactly as you typed it, the moment it arrives. Nothing rewrites or summarizes your messages, so wherever your words show up in the memory, they are your words.

It never forgets after a long day

An overseer works in a limited working memory. When that fills up and gets squeezed, or the overseer restarts, or a new overseer takes over, the app hands it the whole memory again on its very next message.

The rest of the time, when the overseer already holds the current memory, it is only told what changed, so its working memory is not filled with the same block over and over.

A scribe writes it down

The overseer does not have to remember to write things down. A small helper, the scribe, reads what was said since its last pass and keeps the memory up to date, citing the message each change came from. The scribe can only suggest changes. The app checks every one before it goes in.

Nothing is cut short

The memory has a size budget. If it grows past it, the memory is merged and tidied, never chopped. An item reaches the overseer whole or not at all, and nothing that is in force is left out to save space.

Seeing it

Open the Overseers hub, pick the crew, then Dashboard, then Memory. It is read-only: you can look at everything the overseer is carrying, but changes come from your messages and the scribe.

If something goes wrong

If the scribe fails or falls behind, "scribe overdue" shows on the Memory view and in the overseer's own messages, and you get one alert. A problem here is never silent.
