My Real Chrome — Extension Privacy Notice
Effective date: 2026-08-26
This notice explains how the Omniscio "My Real Chrome" browser extensions handle your information. It applies to the companion Chrome extensions that let the Omniscio desktop app act inside your own browser — "My Real Chrome — Lite" and "My Real Chrome — Full." It is specific to those extensions; the Omniscio desktop app's overall data practices are described in our main Privacy Policy.
What the extension is
The extension is a companion to the Omniscio desktop application and does nothing on its own — it is inert without the app. When you ask Omniscio's AI agent to do something on the web, the extension lets the agent read the page, click, type, navigate, and take a screenshot — but only on tabs the agent drives, and only on sites you have explicitly allowed. Every tab the agent controls shows a clear on-page banner so you always know it is active.
What information the extension handles
- Page content and actions, on allowed and agent-driven tabs only. While the agent is working, the extension reads what it needs to act — the page's visible text and structure (an accessibility-style snapshot derived from the page's DOM/ARIA) and screenshots of the active tab — and performs the clicks, typing, and navigation you asked for. This happens only on tabs the agent opened (the default) or a tab you explicitly attached, and only on sites you have granted access to.
- A small amount of on-device bookkeeping. The extension remembers which tabs the agent opened (using Chrome's session storage) so a controlled tab isn't lost while Chrome idles the extension's worker.
The extension does not read your browsing history, your other tabs, your saved passwords, your cookies, or any site you have not allowed.
Where the information goes
- Only to your own Omniscio app, on the same computer. The extension relays what it reads and does to the Omniscio desktop application running locally on your machine, over a local connection (Chrome native messaging for the Lite extension; a local loopback connection for the Full extension). It opens no network sockets of its own.
- The extension sends nothing to Omniscio's servers, and nothing to any third party. It makes no analytics, telemetry, or advertising calls.
- What the Omniscio app subsequently does with that content is governed by the app's own Privacy Policy and your configuration.
Your controls
- Off until you turn it on. The feature is disabled until you enable it inside the Omniscio app.
- Per-site, granted by your click. The extension holds no access to any site until you grant it — one site at a time, or all at once if you choose — and you can revoke access at any time from Chrome's extension settings.
- Fresh tabs by default. By default the agent drives only tabs it opens itself — never the tabs you already had open — unless you opt in to more in the app's settings.
- Always visible. Every tab under the agent's control shows a banner.
What the extension deliberately does not do
- No selling of your data. No use for advertising. No unrelated collection.
- The Lite extension requests no "debugger" permission — it uses Chrome's standard scripting, so it cannot do the invasive things a debugger-based tool can.
- No access to any site you haven't allowed; no background tracking; no transmission to any server or third party by the extension itself.
Data retention
The extension keeps no personal data of its own beyond the short-lived, on-device record of which tabs the agent opened, which is cleared when the connection ends. Content the extension reads is relayed to your local Omniscio app and is retained — or not — according to the app's Privacy Policy.
