Keeping a hub out of your Inbox

Keep any hub out of the unified inbox without disturbing the hub itself: one "Show in Inbox" switch per hub, on by default, reachable from the hub's own right-click menu and from Settings → Inbox. A hub switched off puts no row in the Inbox list and nothing into the Inbox count, while its sidebar row keeps its needs-you badge exactly as before.

The unified inbox mixes every hub's business into one list. Some hubs are noisy and some you watch closely — and you, not the app, know which is which. Show in Inbox is one switch per hub, so the inbox holds what you care about while every hub keeps working.

What it does

  • On by default, for every hub. Nothing changes for anyone until a switch is flipped.
  • Off removes the hub's items from the Inbox list and from the Inbox count — the number on the Inbox row and the phone's Inbox tab, which read the same list.
  • The hub itself is untouched. Its sidebar row stays, and so does its needs-you badge — along with the hub's own Needs You list, its alerts and its approvals. That is the point: it still tells you it needs you, just not in your inbox.
  • Nothing is deleted. Switching a hub off archives nothing, deletes nothing and marks nothing read; switching it back on brings every item straight back.
  • Remembered, and the same everywhere. The choice survives a restart and applies on your phone as well as your computer.

Where to find it

  • The hub's own menu — right-click any hub row in the sidebar and choose Hide from Inbox (or Show in Inbox to bring it back).
  • Settings → Inbox → Hubs in your Inbox — the whole list, with a tick per hub. It lists every hub this install has, not just the ones the sidebar currently shows (a hub you have hidden from the sidebar still puts items in your inbox), plus a named entry for each inbox section that owns no hub row of its own: System, Tasks reminders, Cron job failures, Feature nudges and Help Desk. A hub whose items have all been archived is still listed, so it can always be switched back on.

What it is not

  • Not a mute. This is an inbox-display choice. Nothing outside the inbox changes: a hub switched off still counts on its sidebar row, and keeps its own Needs You list, alerts and approvals. The app's OS badge follows the inbox itself, so it drops the hub with it.
  • Not the same as the source switches. The per-source toggles above it in Settings → Inbox (Sessions, SMS, Briefings…) silence a kind of message everywhere. This one silences one hub. They compose: a hub is shown only when its own switch is on and its items' source is on.
  • Not silent when it hides things. If a hub switch empties your inbox, the empty state says Sources hidden and offers one-click Show all — it never claims you are all clear, and that one button clears the hub switches as well as the source ones.
