Moving between sessions on a phone
On a phone you can change sessions by flicking left or right, step through them with the previous and next arrow buttons, and close an overlay by flicking it downward. The gestures are tuned to ignore small movements and scrolls, so a swipe never fires by accident.
What it is
This area is the touch layer of the mobile app — the small set of finger gestures and arrow buttons you use to move around without hunting for a button. It has three parts.
Swipe between sessions. On the narrow touch layout you can drag the session panel horizontally to move to the session before or after the one you are reading. It is scroll-aware and threshold-driven: a short nudge, a slow drag, or a mostly up-and-down gesture is ignored so that ordinary reading and scrolling never flips you to a different session. In testing the swipe commits only when the horizontal travel passes roughly 50 pixels or the flick is fast (over about 500 pixels a second), and only for a predominantly horizontal gesture.
Previous and next arrows. A pair of arrow buttons in the session header steps to the previous or next session. These are gated by their own setting, which is off on a fresh install, so a new profile shows no arrows until the setting is turned on.
Swipe an overlay away. A downward flick closes a small panel that has popped up over the screen — the account panel or one of the app's shared bottom sheets.
Every part of the area is mobile-only. Omniscio decides it is on mobile from two things together — a narrow viewport and real touch input — so a narrow desktop window is not treated as a phone, and the desktop app is completely unaffected.
Where to find it
- On a phone, on the session you are reading: drag it left or right to move between sessions.
- The session header: the previous and next arrows, once their setting is on.
- Overlays: the account panel behind the mobile header's account button, and the shared bottom sheets (the project picker, filter and options sheets) — flick one down, or use its small grab handle.
- There is nothing to find in Settings for the swipe itself; the arrows are the one part with a switch.
How it behaves
- Swiping a mobile pop-up away is documented on Swiping a mobile pop-up away: the account panel and shared bottom sheets, the grab handle that closes one straight away, and the pop-up it deliberately leaves alone so a stray swipe cannot throw away typed text.
- The phone's own Back gesture is documented on Mobile back gesture: how a system Back press steppers back one screen inside Omniscio instead of closing the app.
- Mobile Access is the front door to the whole phone experience — getting in, what you see, and the first things to know.
- Tap the project title to jump to the top covers another touch shortcut: tapping the project's name to scroll its session list back to the top.
- Your phone reopens the session you had open covers returning to the same session after a refresh or reopening the app.
- Multi-select on mobile covers the long-press gesture that starts selecting several session rows to act on at once.
