Clear a hub's waiting items — middle-click a hub

Clearing everything a sidebar hub is waiting on you for, with a middle-click on that hub's row — or on the Inbox row to do every hub at once. What the confirmation names, which rows count as waiting on you, the few things that cannot be undone, and how the sessions come back with one Undo.

What it is

What it does

Middle-click a hub in the left sidebar and Omniscio offers to clear everything waiting on you in that hub — the same rows its Needs You section is showing. Middle-click the Inbox row at the top and it offers the same across every hub.

Nothing happens until you accept a confirmation, which names the hub, the exact number, and lists the rows themselves.

What it clears, exactly

Whatever that hub's Needs You section was showing:

  • the sessions asking for you (needs_you), archive them the same way archiving one by hand does;
  • the hub's own inbox rows — the parked PRs, approval requests, doc-token alerts and similar.

A broken session (error / stalled) is not included — those live in the hub's Interrupted section, not Needs You.

A pinned session is not included either. Pinned rows are shown under Pinned rather than Needs You, so the gesture leaves them where you put them — which also means a hub whose only waiting session is pinned keeps its number after a clear.

Integration hubs work too

It is not only project hubs. An integration hub whose inbox rows carry that hub's own key — SMS, Telegram, Gmail, Calendar, the Alerts hub — is cleared the same way, using that hub's own rows.

For SMS that means every waiting text is marked read: the threads are disposed of from the inbox, exactly as opening each one would, and they stay in your SMS list. Nothing is deleted.

Approvals, Tasks and Team Chat count a list of their own rather than their inbox rows, and each clears exactly what it counts — the same number you see on the row:

  • the Approvals hub clears the pending approvals waiting there;
  • the Tasks hub clears the waiting sessions of the hidden workspace its badge counts — the front-door row runs no sessions of its own, so its number comes from there;
  • the Team Chat hub clears its message notices and its pending connection requests.

Where to find it

There is nothing to open — this one is a gesture on the session sidebar itself. Middle-click a hub row in the left sidebar to clear that hub, or middle-click the Inbox row at the top to clear every hub at once. Because it rides the middle button, the row keeps its ordinary meanings: left-click still opens the hub and right-click still opens its menu.

How it behaves

How to use it

  • Middle-click a hub row → clears that hub's waiting items.
  • Middle-click the Inbox row → clears everything waiting, everywhere.
  • Left-click still opens the hub, and right-click still opens its menu — neither changed.
  • A hub with nothing waiting on you does nothing at all: no popup, no clearing.

What can't be undone

Most of what clears can be brought back. The exceptions are shown separately in the confirmation, under their own heading:

  • pending approvals (cron, automation, CLI, recipe, PM),
  • doc-token, MCP-bloat and skills-bloat alerts,
  • connection requests.

Clearing one of those rejects it — the same thing that happens when you clear that row by hand. Because of that, when any are present the confirmation is styled as a warning and Cancel is the focused button, so pressing Enter never fires it. They are never lumped into a single total you have to take on trust.

This matters most for the Approvals hub: clearing that row rejects every approval waiting there in one go, so read the warning before you accept it.

Getting sessions back

Sessions come back with one Undo — after the clear, use the Undo button on the toast, or Ctrl+Z. Each session returns to the exact status it had before. Rows that clear by being snoozed come back on their own.

When there is no hotkey

There deliberately isn't one. This is a mouse gesture, like every other middle-click in Omniscio, and a keystroke that clears a whole hub would be far too easy to hit by accident.

Desktop only

There is no middle button on a phone, and the phone list renders its own rows, so this gesture is desktop-only.

Related

Clearing a whole hub is the bulk counterpart of putting one session away at a time, which is on the archive a session page. The sidebar gestures that pair with it — including the multi-select that stops and restarts a hand-picked set — are on bulk select in the sidebar, and stopping or restarting many sessions at once in one modal is on stop, restart, pause, archive, message or refill many sessions.
