Google Sheets and Contacts

The Sheets and Contacts side of Omniscio uses the same single Connect Google sign-in as Calendar, Drive and Gmail. Sheets get a built-in space that shows their real formatting and lets an agent read and edit them, while Contacts are read-only and feed the Quick Email recipient picker and Supermail's send-to groups.

What it is

This area covers two things that share the one Connect Google consent.

Sheets. Omniscio has a built-in Sheets space that opens a spreadsheet as a real grid, not a plain-text table: background colours, text colours, bold and italic, font size, horizontal alignment and the actual column widths all come through, so the grid looks like the spreadsheet you would see in Google. An agent also gets a set of Sheets tools inside any chat, so you can ask in plain English to read a range or add a row and it decides which tool to call. A Trusted Sheets setting marks specific spreadsheets as safe and names which columns may be edited, so those columns unlock without the usual warning while the rest stay locked.

Contacts. Omniscio reads your saved Google contacts and contact groups through the same sign-in, read-only. It does not show a contacts screen of its own; instead the people it finds fill the recipient picker in Quick Email and the send-to groups in Supermail.

A bundled Google Workspace tool server for CLI sessions sits in this family too, but it is retired from use.

Where to find it

  • Connect Google once — Settings → Google → Connect Google. One consent covers Sheets, Calendar, Drive and Gmail; connecting or disconnecting anywhere updates all of them live.
  • Sheets — turn it on in Settings → Google Sheets, then open the Sheets space in the sidebar.
  • Trusted Sheets — Settings → Google Sheets → Trusted Sheets → Add trusted sheet.
  • Contacts — there is no separate Contacts screen; they appear where you address people, in Quick Email and in Supermail's compose fields.
  • Google Workspace tool server — retired from use, with no enable toggle; the page stays as the tool reference for the day it returns.

How it behaves

  • The Sheets space — renders spreadsheets with their native Google formatting (background colours, text colours, bold, italic, font size, horizontal alignment, actual column widths) and lists them trusted first, then pinned, then recent. See Google Sheets integration.
  • Agent Sheets tools — a set of tool-use calls the agent can make to list spreadsheets, read a range, update cells, create or add a sheet, insert rows and columns, and apply formatting. See Google Sheets integration.
  • One consent for Google — Calendar, Drive and Sheets sit behind a single Connect Google click, and disconnecting clears the data Omniscio built from Google. See Google integrations.
  • The Quick Email recipient picker — starts typing in a Quick Email composer and Omniscio suggests people from your saved contacts and from who you email most. See Quick Email.
  • Supermail send-to groups — drop a named group of people into a Supermail recipient field instead of typing each address; the Google groups are shown read-only. See Supermail Contact Groups.
  • Google Workspace tool server — a bundled server that once gave CLI sessions Docs, Sheets and Drive tools; it is retired from use and no longer reaches sessions. See Google Workspace MCP.
  • The Google neighbours — Drive file management and Gmail triage use the same consent and are described on their own pages. See Google Drive integration and Gmail integration.
