GitHub Integration (the marketplace plugin)

GitHub in Omniscio is a **free marketplace plugin** you install, then connect. There is no token to paste and no command-line tool to install — Omniscio brokers the sign-in itself.

What it is

GitHub support is not built into Omniscio. It ships as a marketplace plugin named GitHub (github-integration, version 1.7.0, category development, free). The old built-in GitHub tab has been removed entirely; the plugin supersedes it and adds more on top.

Once installed and connected, it puts the parts of github.com you touch every day into an Omniscio panel:

  • Repository navigator — every repo you can see, grouped by owner and organization, with pins, recents, and a filter.
  • Pull requests — your review queue, any repo's open and closed PRs, diffs with per-file "Viewed", comments and review threads, and merge / approve / request-changes without leaving the app.
  • Issues — your involved issues, detail and comments, create / close / reopen, plus milestones and the repository's label catalogue.
  • Code and search — a github.com-style codebase browser and cross-repo code search with highlighted previews, plus GitHub's full search across issues, PRs, repos, people and commits.
  • Releases, Gists, Notifications, Actions & CI, Security, Activity and organisations — releases with notes and assets; gists; your GitHub inbox mirrored into Omniscio's rail and Inbox; workflow runs with their jobs and failure annotations; Dependabot / code-scanning / secret-scanning alerts; stars, watches, event feeds and read-only org/team rosters.

Everything a person can click is also an AI-callable action over the plugin's own CLI endpoints — with one deliberate exception, the Access & keys tab, which is human-only. Destructive actions (merge, close, publish a release, delete, and so on) are two-step: a preview with a confirmation token, then the confirmed call, all landing in an audit trail.

Where to find it

  1. Install it. Open the Marketplace from the sidebar (the store icon), find GitHub, and install. You can also reach it from Settings → Plugins → Browse Marketplace. (If the Marketplace is not visible, turn it on first at Settings → Features → Enable Marketplace.)
  2. Open it. After install it has its own sidebar entry; click it to open the panel.

There is no separate "Setting Up" step for sign-in: the plugin uses Omniscio's own GitHub connection, so you do not paste a personal access token and you do not install the gh command-line tool.

How it behaves

  • Free, and independent of GitHub's own app. The plugin needs no agent subscription and no extra software beyond Omniscio.
  • Read-first, confirm-gated writes. Reads are safe and instant; the eighteen destructive or publishing actions require a confirmation step and are recorded.
  • GitHub bug intake, the PR Merge Queue, the PR inbox backend, and cloning a GitHub repo when you add a project remain built into Omniscio — those are not part of this plugin.
  • It enriches the app, it does not replace it. Notifications surface in Omniscio's own rail and Inbox; a PR can be handed to a normal session with a full brief.

For agents

  • Manifest: src/plugins/github-integration/manifest.json (id github-integration, name GitHub, version 1.7.0, license free, category development).
  • Surface and endpoint inventory: src/plugins/github-integration/README.md (128 CLI endpoints under GET /plugins/github-integration/cli/<path>, eighteen confirm-gated). Discover the CLI shape via plugin-cli-discovery.
