Hardcore Mode
Hardcore Mode stops you from glancing at the same thing over and over. Each item gets a small number of looks; after that it locks, and a wall asks you to actually deal with it. It is off until you switch it on, and you choose how strict it is.
What it is
- A look budget. Every time an item needs you, you get a set number of looks at it. Use them up and the item locks.
- A wall with real ways out. A locked item shows a wall instead of letting you click away. You clear it by dealing with the item: reply to it, archive it, turn it into a scheduled follow-up, or ask the AI for help.
- A snooze limit. Snoozing is capped too, so it cannot become the way to put something off forever.
- The opposite of Focus Mode. Focus Mode holds things back so you can concentrate. Hardcore Mode makes you finish what you open.
Where to find it
- Settings: search Settings for Hardcore Mode. The section holds the main on/off switch and every option below.
- In the toolbar: once Hardcore Mode is on, an indicator shows it is active, so the lock never surprises you.
How it behaves
- Off by default. Seeing the Hardcore Mode section changes nothing. Nothing locks until you turn the main switch on.
- All projects or only some. Enforce it everywhere, or pick the projects it applies to.
- You set the strictness. Choose how many looks an item gets before it locks, and how many snoozes it gets before snoozing locks too.
- Forcing past is deliberate. You can always force past the wall. By default that means typing a short phrase first, so it takes a moment of intent; you can change the phrase or turn that requirement off.
- The app never charges you for its own moves. When Omniscio itself moves you to another item, that does not trap you, and a pop-out window never spends a second look.
