Team workload, ideas to even out the work, and Blocked by / Blocking
The People page opens with a Team workload panel: who carries how much, who is overloaded and who is out. Under it, ideas suggest one teammate with room for a specific item, and only open that item. Each item card lists what the item waits on and what waits on it.
What it is
A view of the work Mission Control already tracks, put on screen. The panel calls someone overloaded by exactly the rule the question box uses: their own People-page limit, or else the team rule (5 or more open items and at least twice everyone else's average). The ideas are worked out by fixed rules, not AI, so they are free and the same every time. Nothing on these screens changes an item; you change an owner yourself.
Where to find it
- Team workload: Mission Control's left menu → People, at the top of the page.
- Blocked by / Blocking: open any item; the strip sits under its title when the item is linked to others through a Dependency column.
- Both are in the desktop app only, like the rest of the People page.
How it behaves
Team workload
- One row per person who owns items on your projects. A bar shows their late work, work due in the next 7 days, and other open work, beside "{N} open".
- Tags: Overloaded (the team rule), At own limit (N) (their own limit), and Out for each stretch of time off in the next 7 days.
- Unowned work: a line under the legend says how many open items have no owner.
- A person's items: press a row to list their most urgent items (late first, then soonest due) with the project and the due date or days late. Press an item to open it on its project.
- Only your projects: the panel shows projects you are a member of, and a hidden People column hides that project's owners here too.
- Freshness: the panel reads the same summary as the question box, so a change of owner shows after the next refresh (usually a few minutes). It reloads whenever the page opens.
Ideas to even out the work
- What an idea says: "Move Fix login bug (due Oct 29) from Alex to Priya. Alex has 9 open items, over the team rule; Priya would have 3 and is in that day." Up to 3 ideas per overloaded person, 10 in all.
- Open item only: each idea has one button, Open item. Nothing moves on its own.
- Who can be suggested: someone who can edit that project (never a viewer or someone outside it), who is not overloaded and would not become overloaded by taking the item, who is not out on its due date, and who does not already own it. Each idea is checked as if the ideas before it had already happened, so together they never push one person over.
- What stays put: late items and items with no due date stay with whoever has them.
- No idea: "No one on these projects has room for {name}'s items right now."
- Edit rights unknown: who can edit a project comes from the Mission Control server. When the server cannot say (for example before its editors check is deployed), the panel says "Can't confirm yet who can edit these projects…" instead of guessing.
- Grading: an automatic crunch-week test checks every idea against these rules; the Team Simulation grades the ideas A to F after release.
Blocked by / Blocking
- Direction: when item B's Dependency column lists item A, B is Blocked by A and A is Blocking B. "Connect projects" links never count as blocking.
- Across projects: links to items on other projects show with the project name, for projects you are a member of.
- Done items stay in the list, crossed out and marked Done. Press any entry to open it.
- Cut short: "More links may exist." appears when the link read hit its size cap.
