How much Omni does on its own
Pick one of three levels for Omni: Only suggest, Ask first (the default) or Act, then tell me. The app checks every change Omni tries to make in Mission Control. A change your level does not allow waits under Needs your OK until you approve it, and nothing changes before you click.
What it is
Omni is the AI project manager inside Omniscio. It can change your Mission Control projects: move a date, rename an item, add a subitem, post an update. This setting decides how much of that it may do without asking you first.
- Only suggest: Omni never changes anything itself. Every change it wants to make becomes a card for you to approve.
- Ask first (the default): changes come to you to approve, except a change you ask Omni for directly in that chat, which happens and can be undone.
- Act, then tell me: Omni makes changes and tells you after, and each one can be undone.
Whatever the level, Omni always asks first before it deletes or archives anything, changes who an item is assigned to, shares or publishes something, or starts a full AI session.
The check is done by the app itself on every change, not only by Omni's instructions. So it holds even if Omni misreads what you said, or a document it reads tries to talk it into a change.
Where to find it
- The gear Settings button at the top of your Omni control center opens Omni's settings; the level is the first row.
- Settings > Mission Control, in the How Omni answers card of the Omni area, shows the same setting.
- The top of the Omni page shows your level as a small chip, for example "Ask first". Click it to change the level.
How it behaves
- "You asked directly" means the newest message in that Omni conversation is one you typed yourself, less than 30 minutes ago. A scheduled job, another agent or an older message does not count.
- A held change shows under Needs your OK on the Omni page and in your main Inbox approvals. It reads like "Omni wants to change the item 'Draft offer letter' (name). Nothing has changed yet." Approve makes exactly that change, once. Deny drops it. If Omni sends the same change again while it waits, you still see one card.
- If the change can no longer be made by the time you approve it (the item was deleted, say), the card says so in plain words and nothing changes.
- Omni's own changes show in What changed with a star in front of them and an Undo button that reverses that one change. What changed is on the computer only.
- Omni is told plainly when a change is waiting for you, so it says it is waiting rather than claiming the change is done.
